In October 2010 we hopped on a train to get away for a long weekend. Destination… Cardiff Bay, would you believe! It turned out to be a very pleasant weekend indeed.

We stayed at the St David’s Hotel in Cardiff Bay. Not shabby at all! It has panoramic views over the bay towards the Mermaid Quay.

Each room has its own balcony. We were lucky to enjoy winter sun for 2.5 days out of the 3.

I enjoyed the Spa and swimming pool on the ground floor, and stayed true to my routine of at least a 1km swim / day. The rooms at St David’s are spacious with floor to ceiling windows. We had sun in our room from 7 am to 7 pm each day!
